This year see's us in Belpark organise SwimAthy www.swimathy.com. An open
water swim event scheduled to take place the week before TriAthy. This is a
great chance for you and you club members to practice an open water swim
without all the usual hustle and bustle of a triathlon.
Whether its to do time trail over the 1500m open water swim course, practice
racing with a mass swim start in the 750m race or just prep the course the
week before TriAthy.

The Saturday swim sessions in Naas pool continued with a couple of new faces. A special word of thanks goes to one of these, our stand-in coach Etain Butler. Etain, daughter of Colm was good enough to help out in the absence of Paul (who was reported to be off sunning himself with Darren in Cyprus). There was no certainly no let up in the standard of coaching and we all benifitted from a few helpful tips from someone who clearly knows what she is about, thanks Etain!
There were five of us in swimming. The core group seems to consist of Colm, Caroline, Ian and myself, Ed. Maurice joined us for his first dip and soon got into his rythym - good to see you again Maurice. We've also had a a few other members turn up occasionally including Andy, David and Steve so there is usually a good balance.
The sessions will continue for several more weeks until the middle of Dec and all are welcome to join in, whatever their standard of swimming. The current group are fairly mixed so don't be put off by thinking you're not good enough. Hope to see you there.
